Prem Thanki, MBM, is the Founder and Lead Consultant at Mustronics. Since establishing the company in 2006, he has successfully led electronic design and contract manufacturing projects for businesses across New Zealand and Asia.
With more than 20 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, production operations, supply chain management, and process improvement within the technology sector, Prem brings a strong combination of technical expertise and business strategy. He is experienced in applying analytical tools, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to improve operational efficiency and business performance. Known for his customer-focused approach, Prem has built long-standing relationships through clear communication, reliability, and practical problem-solving.
Prem is passionate about emerging technologies, particularly the Internet of Things (IoT), and has extensive experience working with start-ups, international business development, market research, business planning, and growth strategies. His ability to turn innovative ideas into practical business opportunities has helped organisations improve revenue growth and operational outcomes.
He completed a Master of Business and Management (MBM) from University of Waikato and has also completed additional studies through distance learning with University of Michigan. Prem earned his Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electronics and Computer Engineering from Manukau Institute of Technology.
In addition to his professional work, Prem actively supported the business community by providing voluntary mentoring to New Zealand SMEs and is a past member of Business Mentors New Zealand.
Outside of work, Prem enjoys spending time with his family and continuing to develop innovative IoT concepts and technologies.
